Inlays and Onlays
Inlays and Onlays are filling that fit into the tooth like a puzzle piece. They are porcelain/ resin material that feels and looks just like a tooth. When placed into the teeth, they actually disappear and are very hard to detect in the tooth. These restorations also make the tooth about 90% as strong as it was before any fillings were placed.
These are often marketed by dentists as a one step procedure using a machine that mills the filling. Dr. Edward Miller does not use this technique. He uses highly trained dental laboratory technicians to fabricate the onlays. Using this technique, he can have an onlay made which is made with the patients’ best interest at stake, for example, shade, shape and contours. These fillings, therefore, are special made for each patient. It is not an assembly line filling. The time spent having this procedure actually requires less time than the advertised one visit onlay.
Onlays and inlays are often the preferred fillings at Aesthetic Dentistry of Scottsdale. Aesthetic Dentistry of Scottsdale provides these services for Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, Carefree and Glendale, Arizona patients.
